Creating and Duplicating CDs
CD Masters and Labels
Clients should create their CD master disc in advance of their duplicating appointment. Text labels can be created in the lab with the option of adding a Virginia Tech logo or other logos. We will not print graphically intense labels.
Media
We recommend that you copy your master onto 24X injet printable CD-ROMs, which can be ordered online at http://www.tapeandmedia.com. If you are unable to purchase CD-ROMs before your appointment, you can use the supply in the lab, provided you agree to reimburse us with the same number and type of media used for your project.
Sleeves
Upon your request, we will place your finished CDs in paper sleeves with a transparent window, provided you agree furnish us with the sleeves or reimburse us with the same number and type of sleeves used for your project.
Finishing Up
Once your duplicating job has been started, you will be asked to sign our CD Duplication Log with your name, department, and number of CDs to be duplicated. Depending on the size of the job, you may wish to arrange a separate time and date to pick up your CDs once they are completed.
For Best Results
Logo Formatting
Logo resolution should be 150 to 300 dots per inch. Resolutions lower than 150dpi will result in grainy, poor quality labels. (Beware of images copied from a website!)
Handling
Please allow several minutes for the labels on your CDs to dry before putting them in a CD-ROM drive.
