AHNR-IT provides instructional development expertise to faculty, staff and students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Virginia Tech, Virginia Cooperative Extension and the Virginia Agricultural Experiment Station. AHNR-IT works with clients to develop educational materials that use technology to enhance the learning experience. Staff can provide instructional resources, training and advice to help support development of courses, training programs, and multimedia learning modules.
Several AHNR-IT members are part of the administrative group that manages the Online Master's in Agricultural and Life Sciences Degree Program and that assists with course development.
AHNR-IT provides group, one-on-one and online training and support of instructional and communication technologies and web applications supported by the College. We provide training and online tutorials for the following:
An Interactive Learning Object instructional module, usually web based, incorporates “chunks” of learning content that use various media such as text, animations, audio, video and still images to illustrate a particular concept or idea. Interactive Learning Objects can stand alone for instructional purposes or be used as a supplement to support other existing content. AHNR-IT routinely works with faculty and Extension members to create age appropriate targeted learning objects which incorporate sound Constructivist learning theory. You acting as the Subject Matter Expert can have your instructional ideas brought to life. Contact AHNR-IT to get your project started. More
