An easy way to distribute a presentation to your audience is by sending the web address of the presentation in an e-mail note. An example note may read something like this:
“Dear Group,
The web address for the presentation, ‘Organizing Volunteer Programs and Collaborations’ is http://connect.ag.vt.edu/p80912384. Please link to or copy and paste this web address into your browser. The presentation will open in your browser window.”
To find the web address of the presentation:
- Log into your Presenter account, (http://connect.ag.vt.edu/)
- Select the Content tab, and find the presentation for which you want the web address. Select the presentation link.
- The screen below shows the content information for the presentation you selected, including the URL for Viewing. This is the web address you should distribute.
At the user’s request, AHNR-IT staff in the multimedia lab can put your Adobe Presenter presentations on CD-ROM for wider distribution. Please contact the multimedia lab assistant at (540) 231-9495.
You can also upload and link presentations in learning management systems like Blackboard. If you are trying to link course presentations for your students, we recommend that you follow the instructions in this section.
- Log into your Adobe Presenter account, select the Content tab, and find the presentation you want to upload to Blackboard. Check the box next to the presentation.
- The next screen shows the content information for the presentation you selected. Select the Download Content link.
- Next, select the .zip file under the Download output file(s) header. It will have the same name as the web address of your presentation.
- Save the .zip file to your computer and give it a name that makes sense (example: aee5154_lecture1.zip). In the Save as type box, make sure the file type is WinZip File.
- After you have downloaded the .zip file from the Adobe Presenter Connect server, you can then upload it into Blackboard. Log into your Blackboard course (https://learn.vt.edu/) and select the Control Panel button to find the content area where you would like to post presentations (example: Course Documents).
- Add an item with the +Item button.
- Type in the appropriate information in the Name and Text boxes. Under Content Attachments, select the Browse button to attach the appropriate .zip file on your computer.
- In the Special Action box, select Unpackage this File.
- After you submit, the next form you see is File Options. Select index.html as the entry point then submit this form.
- Choose Launch in new window and Submit.
- Go back to the content area where you linked your presentation (example: Course Documents). You will see the name you specified and the link to the package file. This link will take your students to the presentation, which opens within their browser window.
Follow steps 1-10 each time you want to have a presentation uploaded and linked into Blackboard.
Remind students that they must have a current version of Flash Player installed on their computers to successfully see the presentations.
