The procedure to connect to your encrypted volume is the same in portable more as it is when installed on your system.
1. Run TrueCrypt
a. If installed on your system then go to Start -> All Programs -> TrueCrypt Note: For Mac users, go to Macintosh HD, Applications, TrueCrypt.app
b. In portable mode, go to the folder that you copied onto your flash drive, and double click TrueCrypt.exe (or for Mac users, TrueCrypt.app)
2. From the TrueCrypt window, click the Select File... button. Browse to where you stored the encrypted file you created in step 4 and click Open.
3. Choose an available drive letter. X is a good choice for most. Then click Mount. Note: For Mac users, you must choose a slot instead of a drive letter. Choose any available slot.
4. Enter your password you created for the volume and click Ok. You should see the name and location of your encrypted next to the drive letter that you chose.
5. Click Exit.
6. To access the encrypted volume, go to My Computer and then double click on the X: drive. Just drag and drop files to this location. Note: For Mac users, a new volume of No Name will appear on your desktop. Store data that you want encrypted here.
Note: When you are finished working with your encrypted volume, you should close it. To do so, run TrueCrypt, select the drive letter (or for Mac users the slot) that you are using, and click the Dismount button.
