TrueCrypt can be either be installed onto your system, or could be configured to run as a portable application. Running TrueCrypt as a portable application allows you to store TrueCrypt on a flash drive and run it from any computer You can then access your encrypted data from any computer.
To Install:
1. Download TrueCrypt: http://www.truecrypt.org/downloads
2. Double click the TrueCrypt disk image file (.dmg).
3. Read and Accept the license agreement. The disk image will open.
4. Double click on the installer package (.mpkg)
5. Click Continue.
6. Select the target disk you want to use and click Install.
7. Enter your Mac password and click Ok.
7. Click Close.
To use Portable Mode:
1. Install the application using the instructions listed above.
2. Go to your Macintosh HD -> Applications
3. Find the TrueCrypt.app and drag that to your flash drive.
Note: TrueCrypt can be run in both Windows and OSX. The same encrypted volume can be accessed in either system. To make a flash disk that is usable on both platform, the OSX version of TrueCrypt must be copied to the flash drive as well. Both versions must be run manually.
